All Professional ‘n’ Stuff

So, we were tasked with creating a short documentary based on a specific section of a book. We, Josh Newport, Ryan Mills and I were given Andre Bazin (1967) ‘The Evolution of the Language of Cinema; in ‘What is Cinema?’ Our idea was to do an interview in the style of movie promotional interviews you see. I really enjoyed this project because it felt professional and we had a set goal and we had a clear idea of how we were going to achieve it. This is was also a great opportunity to use the green screen and getting some practise with shooting and editing with it. In terms of improvements I think that its too long for what it’s meant to achieve but unfortunately what is said by Ryan and Josh is all relevant. I think if given the opportunity to re-do this again; we would keep the answers more concise. Just so the audience, being media arts students, don’t get bored and stay engaged.

The feedback we received for the video was extremely positive, they said the even though it was long it didn’t feel long and the conversation and the video flowed and had a good pace. A few improvements would be, playing around with music more and making the build ups in the track better fit with how the conversation was going because at some points where they thought the video was over because of crescendos and decrescendos of the music.

I have quite a few flashbacks that I want to put up so those are what I will be working on soon.
